Well! Hello Hello from Peru!  We are just getting comfy and starting our adventures! So much to do and see, and such decisions - I'm tellin ya!  Below are a few shots in the Miraflores area of Lima.  We spent our first few days there, day one catching up on sleep - the flight was long and a headache kicked my butt, so I was pretty exhausted! Hooked up at local coffee shop to hit wifi and wake up a bit, and still managed to get out for dinner and found a rocking little bazaar while we were out! Lots of hand made and typical Peruvian fancies to check out.  The second full day we wondered downtown Miraflores. Instead of staying at a hostel or hotel in Lima, we are honoured to crash in a friends apartment (ty C+C!) which is super handy because we're close to downtown, but not IN downtown, we walking distance from lots, and it's a great little nook to acclimatize to the culture in.

This is a church in Miraflores, I wish I had snapped this photo at night because it was even more beautiful by then! All around the back grounds and the park grounds surrounding are cats - and lots of them!! Oh how I miss my babies!  I wasn't able to snap any pics of these cutie pies, but will be sure to when we're back in Lima mid and end of trip!

A photo of Dejan in the municipal park - gorgeous, and so well cared for! We visited here the second day as well, and I was floored at how many municipal staff they had working the park! Also, all of the parks we encountered had wifi - nice! We should do this at home!! There's even a party caboose! Like Ronald McDonalds, but WAY better! (possible addition to Vic Park? I wish!)

We had to giggle at this - they don't have snow, but they decorate the same way we do - garland everywhere, poinsettias, holly berries, and of course - snow men! or wait... make that bush men, no, that doesn't sound quite right either! Fascinating none the less! Some even had carrots for noses!

...and can you believe this, a gas station in the middle of a busy street! Now that's service!

There's also lots of art - mosaics, paintings, sculptures - all sorts of things!

We popped into Wong's, the grocery/everything-you-could-possibly-ever-need store and as we were checking out... eggs! by the counter!  not refrigerated! I saw this in Chile too, but thought it was unique to them! Guess I was wrong!

Bright and early on the 21st, we're off to Huacachina - so stay tuned! (*read sand dunes + J&D = danger and waaaaay too much fun!)

XO
Jenn
